Cal, Harvard & Stanford Top Week 5 of USRowing Coaches Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. - University of California, Harvard University and Stanford University topped this week’s men’s heavyweight eight, men’s lightweight eight and women’s lightweight eight USRowing Collegiate Coaches’ Polls, respectively.

California continued to hold the top spot in the men’s heavyweight eight poll this week, earning all 14 first-place votes thanks to a sweep of the Stanford Invitational. Yale University ranked second, followed by the University of Washington, Brown University and Harvard University.

Harvard, who defeated Dartmouth College and MIT this past weekend, moved into the top spot of the men’s lightweight eight poll, earning five of seven first-place votes. Columbia University received the other first-place votes to rank second. Princeton University ranked third, while Cornell University and Yale tied for fourth.

Stanford continued as the top choice in the women’s lightweight poll, earning three of five first-place votes. Boston University ranked second, earning the other two first-place votes. University of Wisconsin moved into third position, followed by Princeton and Georgetown University.
