BOSTON, Mass. – The Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Board of Stewards has announced the All-Academic Team for the 2018-19 academic year. To be eligible for recognition a student-athlete must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.35 or higher, completed one full year at their institution (freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible), be an institutional letter winner and also competed at the 2019 IRA National Championship Regatta.
In all, 320 student-athletes from 29 member institutions were recognized. Stanford University led the way for Men’s Heavyweight programs with 17 qualifying student-athletes. Harvard University led the Men’s Lightweight category with 15 student-athletes while Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Princeton University led the way for Women’s Lightweight programs with 10 honorees.
