BOSTON, Mass. – The Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Board of Stewards has announced the All-Academic Team for the 2017-18 academic year. To be eligible for recognition a student-athlete must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.35 or higher, completed one full year at their institution (freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible), be an institutional letter winner and also competed at the 2018 IRA National Championship Regatta.
In all, 315 student-athletes from 28 member institutions were recognized. Harvard University led the way for Men’s Heavyweight programs with 20 qualifying student-athletes. The United States Naval Academy led the Men’s Lightweight category with 10 student-athletes while Massachusetts Institute of Technology led the way for Women’s Lightweight programs with 11 honorees.
