BOSTON, Mass. — Fan voting has closed for the 2017 IRA Announcer Contest. After over a week of voting and over 4,500 votes casted, David Wyant captured the fan vote earing 36.6% of the total votes. The dynamic duo of Eric Grasso and Evan Miesler were close behind in second place with 30.6% of the total votes. Steve Perry rounded out the top three, earning 7.6% of the total fan votes.
The fan votes are an important piece of the overall selection for the winner of the 2017 IRA Announcer Contest. The next step for our top entires will be a full review from our selection panel. Selected finalists will be invited to announce at some of our regional-qualifying regattas for a test-run before taking the big stage at the 2017 IRA National Championships.
An overall winner will be announced within the next 4 weeks, so stay tuned!
