BOSTON, Mass. – The Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) will announce their national championship fields, seedings and lane draws via an online selection show. The webcast is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21 at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
The full fields along with seeds and heat assignments for the Men’s Heavyweight, Men’s Lightweight and Women’s Lightweight National Championships will be announced during the broadcast.
“We are excited to further enhance our selection show in year two by providing the overall seeds during the broadcast,” stated IRA Commissioner Gary Caldwell. “With many crews knowing their qualification status prior to the show, the announcement of the seeds brings a level of excitement and necessity for programs to tune in regardless of if they’ve already punched their ticket to California. I would like to thank the IRA Selection Committee for their expedited efforts to allow us to release the seeds in conjunction with the broadcast,” exclaimed Caldwell.
IRA Executive Director, Katie Boldvich, will once again announce the fields while Fred Schoch and Colleen Saville return to serve as the show’s analysts in breaking down the selections and providing insight to the crews advancing on to the National Championship field.
The show will be broadcast free of charge across the LocalLive Networks platform, which serves as the webstream provider for the Collegiate Division regattas in the Men’s Sprints, National Invitational Rowing Championships, Women’s Sprints and New England Rowing Championships.
